In collaboration with Sawyer, Inc. and The Last Well, the Calvin University Clean Water Institute has enlisted faculty and students from Statistics, GEO, and Public Health to understand the public health impacts of mass distribution of household water filters in Liberia.

As of Summer 2019, year 3 of a 5-year effort, tens of thousands of filters have been distributed. Preliminary results suggest about a 20-fold decrease in the proportion diarrhea incidence a few weeks after getting filters.
